 Apr 2009: Added some genetics material.

May 22 2006: Added my critical review of Anne Magurran's popular book, Measuring Biological Diversity.

May 20 2006: Modified my  Diversity and Similarity section slightly and put some new plant discoveries on my "Latest Orchid Discoveries" page, now renamed "Latest Plant Discoveries". This includes a really showy new amaryllis relative in the genus Eucharis.

April 19 2006: Modified my  Diversity and Similarity section slightly.

Jan 14 2006: Uploaded my article on the mathematics of diversity and similarity measures in ecology, with additional explanations and examples. This is the first installment; there will be quite a lot of material later about the definition and calculation of alpha and beta diversity and community similarity and overlap. Jan 8 2006: Minor modifications to prepare for a large piece on the mathematics of diversity and similarity measures in ecology.

July 15 2005: Starting some pages about conservation, including information about our new conservation foundation, Ecominga, which will buy up Ecuadorian forests that are crucial for plant conservation.
